Meanwhile, the plug-in hybrid gets a manufacturer-estimated 50-mile all-electric range (which is an increase from the 2025 model’s 42-mile all-electric range). If you’re really in a bind and low on gas, you can keep moving so long as you have battery power.

Toyota is separating its RAV4 options into three distinct design styles for 2026: Core, Rugged, and Sport. Each design has its respective trim options. 

The Core design is available in the hybrid LE, XLE, and Limited trims. The Core design is made for those looking for everyday practical perks. Access to front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive depends on the trim.

Meanwhile, the Rugged design is exclusively available in the Woodland trim, which brings exciting upgrades for 2026. This is for avid adventurers and off-roaders. The Woodland is available exclusively with all-wheel drive.

The GR Sport is an all-new option, which is only available as a plug-in hybrid. This exciting new trim gets you a performance-tuned suspension, enhancing body stability for rapid cornering, and summer tires on 20-inch wheels.

Select 2026 RAV4 models get increased towing powers, perfect for drivers looking to take a camper or boat along for the adventure. The SE, XSE, XLE, Woodland, and Limited trims can all tow up to 3,500 lbs when equipped with all-wheel drive. All front-wheel drive models, as well as the LE all-wheel drive, can tow up to 1,750 lbs.
