Toyota Safety Connect is a subscription service that uses GPS data and cellular technology to provide safety and security features to Toyota drivers. Safety connect is supported by Toyota’s designated response center, which operates 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

The SOS button in the overhead console is your connection to the Safety Connect Response Center. The system uses the microphone in the overhead console, and the LED indicator lights will illuminate green when the system is active.

Should you need assistance, simply press the SOS button.

SAFETY CONNECT SYSTEM: Connecting to the Emergency Call Center.

When the indicator lights are flashing green, the means a Safety Connect call is in process. You will be connected with a Safety Connect agent. To disconnect, press and hold the SOS button for about three seconds.

SAFETY CONNECT SYSTEM: Emergency call cancelled.

A solid red indicator light when the vehicle is running means there’s a system malfunction, and you should contact your Toyota dealer. When the indicator lights are off, the Safety connect service is not active.

Safety connect provides an array of services:

  • Automatic Collision Notification will automatically call the response center in the event of an airbag deployment or a severe rear-end collision.
  • With Stolen Vehicle Location, if your vehicle is stolen, file a police report, and call the Safety Connect response team. They’ll work with local authorities to locate and recover your vehicle.
  • Emergency Assistance puts the Safety Connect response team at your fingertips. In the event of an emergency on the road, press the SOS button to be connected with the response center. The answering agent will determine your vehicle’s location, assess the emergency, and dispatch the necessary assistance required.
  • And, with Enhanced Roadside Assistance, your vehicle’s GPS data is linked to your Toyota roadside service. Just press the SOS button to reach the response center, and the agent can provide you with a wide range of needs like towing, flat tire repair, and fuel delivery, just to name a few.
